Brief update:

My vacation: was awesome. I visited Beate. Leading up to stepping on the bus, I had doubts about visiting her after all the stuff that went on between us; a few times, I thought about refunding my tickets and spending that whole vacation week in bed. I'm more than glad that I went; I'm ecstatic. I really needed this vacation, not just as a break from work or life, but as a time to think and break out of my shell. I really want to move up to Grand Forks now; it's a great place to be (compared to Indiana), and I think I've made more friendships (or really good acquaintances) there than I have in the last three years here, which is saying a lot. I also feel that I found the person I want to be up there; I like that person and really want to show her off to the world.

Also, Beate and mine's interactions are stupidly cute. We had a few people ask us if we were dating or getting back together. We talked about it. I could paragraphs dissecting things, theorizing, and drawing up numerous possibilities or conclusions, but I feel more comfortable leaving it at that: We talked about it. That - I think - is the most important thing in this whole matter. We were mature enough to sit down and have a discussion. Everything else is just details, which isn't necessarily superfluous, but certainly isn't as significant as us talking about it.

(if that makes any sense)

- Smoked pot on one occasion. I don't think it's really for me, but I'm not going to judge people who smoke; it's their choice.

- Found Shatterblack. Don't laugh at me. I scoured Fort Wayne for a fucking bottle of this stuff, and gleegasmed when I found it in Grand Forks.

- Found a copy of Roger Zelazny's "A Night in the Lonesome October" and thanks to a coupon, got it for free. GUYSGUYSGUYS. THIS BOOKS. I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR YEARS!

- Shot two rifles and a handgun. One of the rifles was a WWII era Soviet rifle :D The handgun made me nervous, because of the kickback in relation to its size. I'm totally cool with rifles, though, and would like to learn how to use them, so I can actually hit something.

- DAKOTA HARVEST *_* (it's this great local restaurant where you can get soup and bread - all made by the staff - for a decent price. They have only one soup each day, but an assortment of breads. The soups were great! Andandand it was all healthy. One soup was this delicious vegan tomato soup, for example.)

- Attended an acting class and enjoyed seeing them work. Beate and her partner appointed me as their line reader, which somehow evolved into me offering opinions and interpretations on lines. They were actually pretty cool about it, too. If this is what directing is like, I think I might want to try my hand at it.

- Saw a UND production of "Curse of the Starving Class". I enjoyed this immensely and was very impressed with all of the performances.

- Sat in on Beate's film class. The movie: Jim Jarmusch's "Mystery Train". The discussion session: awesome. I'm SHOCKED at how many people walked out on the movie and how little actually showed up for the discussion. In the film class I took in college, if you did that, you were fucked for your grade (unless you had a legit reason to walk out and watched the movie outside of class). Also, I really miss film studies classes.

Aside from vacation!

Zoo: that job has begun. I'm so sore.

Art: I think I'm having an artistic revival. I no longer feel creatively stagnant. Also, the story I illustrated for Apocabigbang is live: link.

This is what I've been working on. It's part of the first panel to a meme.

Game of Thrones: OMGOMGOMG!!! IT'S SO AMAZING!! I JOYGASMED SEVERAL TIMES, BECAUSE GUYGUYGUYS - THE CASTING IS NEAR PERFECT!

Also, this is now my new favorite gif:

I loved Tyrion Lannister before, but Peter Dinklage's performance makes me love him even more. I look forward to all the shiny awesomeness of his character being brought to life *_*

Doctor Who: WANT MORE NOW.
