Port of Call

I've consigned myself to frustration. I'm probably never going to complete this picture, especially with how much I've been working this last month. I'm also clueless as to how I should finish this picture. Nothing feels right, and I haven't been able to come up with something that works since March.

Also, my crack muse has abandoned me or is in hiding due to the ridiculous heat or how overworked I am (going on two weeks with no real day off from either job).

I hate you, workaholism.

This is all I've been working on for about a week now. I got it into my head that it would be cool to paint the flowers without the assistance of any previous lineart. FML. Painting roses by hand is a bitch, but they're the only flowers that really fit the mood of the picture. I hate bouquets....

I'm dreading the background I have planned for this piece. The smart thing to do would be to give up while I'm not frustrated, but how will my art grow if I quit in the middle of something?
