It's Been Five(ish) Years....

I dropped off the face of the Earth after a huge shake up in my life in 2013/14 and just stopped doing all the things I loved, like art and writing and watching movies with a more critical eye. It would be cool if I could proclaim from the Heavens High that this errant child has returned, but I'm afraid she's become someone different. Instead, I would like to try to utilize this space for something else.

In the last three years, I've gotten more into gaming. A supportive community exists in town, facilitated by the owner of the Local Game Store, who has become a really solid friend. Tumblr isn't great for documenting my thoughts on gaming. It feels like talking into the void mostly. I need a space that offers me more control, that's practical for blogging. Hopefully, I can turn to Dreamwidth more to fill these needs.

I'll be talking more about RPG sessions and systems, Magic: The Gathering (decks/themes, local meta, etc), and board games. Every once in a while, I might go off on a tangent about home repair; I just bought my first house in October. I don't have internet yet, so content might be posted sporadically.

Fingers crossed that I can live up to my intentions.

Right? It's a hot nasty dumpster fire of a mess. I didn't expect to suddenly find DW really, really attractive again, but there is a lot to be said about a platform that's actually responsible to its users, not its shareholders, and like, we all knew this, we were there on LJ, and yet.

I'm just extra chafed at having to find a new home for my NSFW art. That's my spare pocket change. I want a new tattoo, damnit, and I have a policy of only funding art with art.
