There are actually a ton of different films that I could recommend. If I had to choose JUST three, it would be impossible. Sooooo....
1) Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Pt2: I went to a midnight showing of this film, and I gotta say that this midnight showing made me remember WHY I like going to midnight showings. For the record, the last few midnight showings of films I went to kinda sucked; the movies were alright, but the audience was sort of not enthusiastic about it. The audience for the Harry Potter midnight showing elevated this to an experience, which I was glad to share with hundreds of other people. It was the last HP movie, the end of a decade-long franchise so close to the hearts of many people, and it was amazing to see just how much people loved it. It was like going to a convention.
Crowd aside, I REALLY loved this film. Part One was marvelous and made up for the crushing disappointment of Half-blood Prince (which had nothing to do with the mystery of the Half-blood Prince or even much to do with horcruxes and everything to do with stupid teens falling in love and all that drama). Part Two was probably the best since the first one (not to say ALL the other movies sucked).
2) Bridesmaids: I fucking loved this movie. Best comedy of the year ;A; I normally HATE Kristen Wiig, but this movie made me realize just how amazing she can be with her own material. The thing I loved the most, though? The women. None of them were tired cliches or Sex & the City knock-offs. They talked, but more importantly, they talked how my friends and I talk. This shouldn't be mind-blowing, but given the treatment of female characters in film, it was.
Seriously, almost peed myself a few times laughing.
3) Horrible Bosses: As far as comedy goes, this was fairly middle-of-the-road. It wasn't great (see Bridesmaids instead) but it wasn't horrible; it was just a comedy that most people will probably forget about in a couple months. Have to say, though: Kevin Spacey does evil very very well.
